The Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida has been around for nearly 25 years. A group of concerned citizens came together with a mission to address the needs of the homeless in our community and to serve as a catalyst for community collaboration to end homelessness. The Coalition helps a remarkable 700 people each day. They offer not only food but also a safe place to transition. Part of their goal is to return residents to self-sufficiency through counseling, job training, and educational programs. The Coalition includes The Center for Women & Families, The Pavilion that is a traditional drop-in shelter for men, First Steps a program offered for men, woman, and housing, plus children services. This organization really goes above and beyond to help the Central Florida community.
