The City of Orlando offers various programs related to Housing and Community Development. Their mission is to maintain a sustainable, livable, safe community for very low, low and moderate income persons. In order to fulfill this mission they offer various funding and community development programs. The Down Payment Assistant Program along with special grants are two great ways for people of the Orlando community to afford a home. The City of Orlando Housing and Community Development even offer a resource for current homeowners. Residents can enroll for the help to repair their homes and bring them to into compliance with the City’s zoning ordinances, Florida Building Codes and the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) minimum housing quality standards (HQS).
