Coalition Member Spotlight: PFLAG

PFLAG is a nationally known non-profit that stands for Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays. The group started with 20 people in March of 1973. Now with over 200,000 members PFLAG is show the nation its mission to celebrate diversity and envision a society that embraces everyone, including those of diverse sexual orientations and gender identities. The mission is clear, to be there for LGBTQ members through support, to cope with an adverse society; education, to enlighten an ill-informed public; and advocacy, to end discrimination and to secure equal civil rights. They have six strategic goals that with the help of others are able to implement this mission.
