Finance and accounting professional with HD Supply Inc. has more than 14 years of experience in financial management
ORLANDO, Fla. – Monday, Jan. 7, 2013 – The Zebra Foundation for Youth® Inc. has named Stephanie J. Suggs, CPA, director of finance – controller, for White Cap Construction Supply Business, a member of its board of directors.
“Stephanie’s strategic and tactical financial expertise is a welcome addition to our board of directors,” said Scott Bowman, chairman of the Zebra Foundation for Youth® board and vice president of client relations at Sara Brady Public Relations Inc. “Her qualifications in financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and process improvements and initiatives implementation will be key as we continue our planned growth.”
The Zebra Foundation for Youth’s® mission is to foster hope, dignity and self-respect in lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and all youth (LGBT+) and provide them the opportunity to grow up in a safe, healthy and supportive environment. Donations to the Zebra Foundation directly support LGBT+ youth, primarily through programs and services provided by the Zebra Coalition®.
Suggs is responsible for all accounting and controllership activities for White Cap Construction Supply Business, a subsidiary of HD Supply Inc. These activities include month-end closes, account reconciliations, external and internal audits, SOX compliance, accounts payable, commissions and operations control teams.
Prior to her current position, Suggs served as the company’s director of finance, interim CFO of the plumbing/HVAC business, finance director of strategic projects and corporate controller.
Suggs also worked at Harris Corporation as director of accounting, senior manager financial and operational audit, senior manager of finance – business operations and manager of headquarters accounting and at Ernst & Young LLP as a senior auditor.

The Zebra Coalition® was established in response to the growing number of LGBT+ youth who are experiencing homelessness, bullying, extreme physical and sexual abuse, isolation from their families and a wide range of life challenges. It is a network of 19 Central Florida social service providers, government agencies, schools, and colleges and universities that provides a full continuum of services to at-risk LGBT+ youth.
